YCCAF is a not-for profit, non-partisan and charitable organization
working with and for youths and children in The Gambia, West Africa

The structure of the Youths and Children Centre for Arts Foundation comprises of a Board of Directors, Management Team and Secretariat and a Children Advocacy Network (CAN). The Children Advocacy Network is a children network under the auspices of the Youths and Children Arts Foundation using the media, theatre and outreach programmes to advocate for issues affecting children at all levels.

YCCAF On  Performing Art Training

Training. Our Program aims to ensure that exceptionally talented youth who will mature into the next generation of great performing artists have opportunities to receive world-class training. Preprofessional training organizations prepare students in a variety of disciplines and nurture the talented young people who contribute to the Arts Area’s diverse, vibrant artistic community.

The management team and secretariat runs the day to day affairs of
the organization. It comprises of the National Coordinator, Assistant
Coordinator, Programme Officer, Communications and Advocacy Officer,
Administration & Finance Officer.  YCCAF has been implementing
series of advocacy, research and policy dialogue projects since its
inception with vast experience in child and community development and
initiatives.

OBJECTIVES

We will strive to accomplish our mission through the following efforts:

 

• To give educational assistance (e.g. scholarships) to the needy and the weaker section of the society who are academically intelligent.

 

• Promoting the health and well-being of the residents of the area and working together as residents regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation recognizing the value of our many differences.

 

• To create polluted-free environments for the children to live in

 

• Involving volunteered legal officers, on behalf of the organization, to advocate for the   rights of the vulnerable youths and children against human rights abuses.

 

• To raise funds and receive contributions where appropriate to finance the work.

 

• To publicize and promote the work.

 

• Mark rules and standing orders for categories of members and their rights.

 

• Organize meetings, training courses and events.

 

• Work with similar originations and exchange information and advice with them.

 

• To comply with all applicable laws of the nations it will be operating.
